Sens. Wicker and Cochran Announce $165,765 for Pontotoc County

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran today announced that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has approved $165,765 in funding for Pontotoc County to build a new access road in the Pontotoc County Industrial Park.
“These funds represent an important investment in Pontotoc County’s infrastructure that will help support new jobs and economic growth in the county,” Sen. Wicker said. “I am glad the ARC recognizes the important role the Pontotoc County Industrial Park plays in the continued economic growth in Northeast Mississippi.”
The ARC funds will be used for construction of nearly half a mile of the Industrial Park Road located in the Pontotoc County Industrial Park. The project will support an industrial expansion with approximately $11.5 million in private investment. It is estimated that the project will support eh reaction of 50 new jobs and the retention of 918 existing jobs.
In addition to the ARC funds, Pontotoc County will provide $41,441 to the project with an estimated total project cost of $207,206.
