WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran today announced that Magnolia has been selected to receive a $24,000 grant to help purchase a new police car through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program.
“Law enforcement officers in Magnolia provide an invaluable service to the citizens of their community,” Senator Wicker said. “This grant will help fund a new patrol car in order to help the Magnolia Police Department continue to protect the citizens they serve.”
The USDA Rural Development Program aims to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life in rural America. This is done by providing financial and technical assistance to foster growth and new opportunities for business development, home ownership, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
