WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., will participate in the annual Celebrity Waiter event held at Chesterfield’s Restaurant on Monday, April 6, 2009.  Sen. Wicker will begin waiting tables at 6:30 p.m.  Proceeds for the event will go to the Waiting for a Cure organization, which helps men and women in southeast Mississippi with breast cancer-related needs.     

“As a member of Congress, I am very comfortable with taking orders from the good people of Mississippi,” Sen. Wicker joked. “I used to wait tables when I was growing up and am glad to have the chance to participate in this worthwhile event.  It should be a lot of fun, and it couldn’t be for a better cause.”
