Wicker Says President Obama's $3.8 Trillion Budget is More of the Same
February 1, 2010
WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today reacted to President Obama’s proposed $3.8 trillion budget proposal, which was delivered to Congress this morning:
“Even though the American public is demanding that the federal government stop the spending spree, this budget represents more of the same. Under this plan of increased spending and higher debt, our deficits will continue to rise to dangerous and unsustainable levels. Congress must start showing the American people that we are serious about getting our fiscal house in order. Unfortunately, this proposal fails to do so.
“It is important to note that this is only the beginning of a long process. After reviewing the president’s proposal, Congress will write its own budget blueprint. I look forward to that debate and to advocating the changes that best serve the people of Mississippi.”
