Wicker Statement on President's Health Care Summit

February 25, 2010

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today issued the following statement on President Obama’s health care summit:

“Today’s health care summit has presented an open forum for Republicans to share our targeted, step-by-step approach to reform. However, unless Democrats are willing to scrap their government takeover plan that Americans have clearly rejected, the summit will amount to little more than political theater. Americans deserve better than that. They deserve health care reform that lowers the cost of insurance, brings down premiums, keeps taxes low, and limits the role of the federal government. It is not too late to start this process over and begin working on a bipartisan, step-by-step approach toward these goals.”
