Wicker Presses Government Officials and Private Executives on Oil Spill Response Efforts

WASHINGTON – During a hearing of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation to probe the federal and private response to the Gulf Coast oil spill, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., pressed officials and executives on cleanup efforts and safety measures moving forward.

Sen. Wicker made remarks at the hearing on Tuesday afternoon, and questioned witnesses, including Admiral Thad Allen, United States Coast Guard; Jane Lubchenco, Administrator, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; Lamar McKay, Chairman and President, BP American; Steven Newman, President and CEO, Transocean; and Dr. Deborah French McCay, Principal, Applied Science Associates.
