May 27, 2011
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) was honored by the American Conservative Union (ACU) for his conservative record in the second session of the 111th Congress. Senator Wicker was presented the award by Al Cardenas, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, at a Capitol Hill ceremony.
“The Defender of Liberty Award is a reflection of Senator Wicker’s outstanding record in support of conservative principles on a wide range of issues of concern to grassroots conservatives in 2010 and someone who conservatives across the country turn to for leadership,” said Cardenas. “At a time when the fundamental principles of the American system of government are being challenged, Senator Wicker stands with those who are trying to preserve those principles.”
