September 11, 2013
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today issued the following statement in respect to the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) announcement that a private-sector agreement has been reached regarding interoperability in the lower 700 MHz band of wireless spectrum:
“I commend FCC Chairwoman Clyburn for successfully developing a voluntary industry solution between AT&T and members of the Competitive Carriers Association on interoperability in the lower 700 MHz band. Everyone involved has worked diligently to reach a consensus on this complicated issue. This agreement will help encourage innovation and investment while ensuring that consumers, particularly in rural areas of Mississippi, experience the full benefits of mobile broadband.”
