Wicker Statement on Obama’s GTMO Plan
February 23, 2016
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s plan to transfer terrorists currently held at Guantanamo Bay to the United States:
“Congress has repeatedly voted to stop the President from transferring known terrorists to the United States – a stance supported by an overwhelming majority of Americans. In fact, the President signed a bill into law just a few months ago that prohibited such a move. Now he has put forward a misguided plan that could endanger American communities and have far-reaching implications on our national security strategy.”
