WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., issued the following statement after the passing of former First Lady Barbara Bush:

“Former First Lady Barbara Bush has passed away after an extraordinary and full life. As the wife of our 41st President and the mother of our 43rd President, Mrs. Bush has made a lasting impact on our nation. Her strength, courage, humor and dedication to her family were an inspiration to all Americans. Gayle and I, on behalf of all Mississippians, send our deepest sympathies and prayers for the entire Bush family.”
