Wicker Votes Against Effort to Limit Trump’s War Powers in Iran
Congress Should Not Tie President’s Hands at Pivotal Moment for Middle East
February 13, 2020
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today released the following statement after voting against S.J. Res. 68, which would prohibit military action against the Islamic Republic of Iran:
“Peace is best achieved through strength. Tying the President’s hands would be the wrong move especially with heightened tensions across the Middle East. At this pivotal moment, the President needs the ability to act quickly and not to be micromanaged by Congress.”
