December 19, 2021
WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today released the following statement on the passing of former Senator Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.
“I have been an admirer of Johnny Isakson since I first heard him speak in Georgia in 1990. I remember thinking after that speech that he was mighty impressive and that he probably had a bright future ahead of him. I’m glad that future allowed me to be Johnny’s colleague in both the House and Senate. Johnny Isakson was a true Christian gentleman. It was my distinct privilege to work alongside him. He was a gifted legislator and public servant who leaves us with a list of accomplishments as long as my arm. He made our country better and our government more effective for its citizens. His memory still makes me want to be a better person.”
