WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., released a statement on Xavier Becerra, President Biden’s nominee to be Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services.

“Xavier Becerra is the wrong choice to lead the Department of Health and Human Services,” Wicker said. “Mr. Becerra lacks the health care experience necessary to address the COVID-19 pandemic, and his record has proven he would seek to replace private health insurance, embrace radical policies on immigration, undermine pro-life protections, and damage religious liberty. In my view, he would sow further division at a time when our country needs a unifying presence in such a key position of influence.”
