Wicker Statement on Passage of D.C. Crime Bill
March 8, 2023
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today voted in favor of a resolution of disapproval to block the Washington, D.C. Council’s dangerous and irresponsible Revised Criminal Code Act of 2022 (RCCA). The measure, which has already passed the U.S. House of Representatives, will now be sent to President Biden.
“Violent crime has soared under the Biden Administration, including in our nation’s capital. But left-wing Democrats continue to push soft-on-crime policies that make our communities less safe,” Wicker said. “This vote shows Republicans are committed to fighting crime, but the battle is not over. We cannot stop until all Americans feel secure at home.”
