WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., a member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (EPW), met with President-elect Trump’s nominee to be the next Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator, Former Representative Lee Zeldin.

“Former Representative Lee Zeldin is a great choice for this position. He will bring important change to the EPA while also playing a pivotal role in reversing harmful Biden administration rulemaking, addressing federal permitting issues at the agency, and protecting our nation’s environment,” Senator Wicker said. “I look forward to working with him through my position on the EPW Committee.”

Former Representative Lee Zeldin is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. He served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023, where he sat on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Financial Services.
