WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., met with President-elect Trump’s nominee to be the next secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Former Representative Doug Collins.

“Mismanagement of the VA has prevented the department from adequately caring for our veterans. Former Representative Collins knows first-hand how important the VA’s work can be and is the right person to get them back on track,” Senator Wicker said. “I am confident that he will be a strong advocate for our veterans and their families.”

Former Representative Doug Collins served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2013 to 2021. He is currently a colonel in the Air Force Reserve.
