WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., the highest-ranking Republican on the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement regarding the reports:

 “If Hamas laid down its weapons, the war would be over. But if Israel lays down its weapons, it would be the end of Israel. Unfortunately, President Biden has this backwards. He has withheld arms for our staunchest ally one day, then professed solidarity with the Jewish people the next. It would be great instead if he applied this same whiplash to the Gaza pier project,” Senator Wicker said. “This delay has sent a dangerous message to Hamas that if they hold out against the IDF for long enough, they can still win.”
