Senator Wicker Receives Committee Assignments for the 119th Congress
January 3, 2025
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today announced he will serve on four committees during the 119th Congress: the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee; the Environment and Public Works Committee; the Rules Committee, and the Senate Armed Services Committee, which he will chair.
“These committee assignments, combined with the new Republican majority, will give me the opportunity to continue representing Mississippi in the most effective way possible,” Senator Wicker said.
Senator Wicker has served as a member of the Armed Services Committee since January 2008. His new position as chair affords him a unique position to advocate for national defense capabilities.
Senator Wicker remains the third-most senior Republican on the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, which has jurisdiction over a wide variety of issues important to Mississippi, including telecommunications and telehealth, rail, highways, ports, aviation, NASA, the Coast Guard, and oceans and fisheries.
