The Senate page and internship programs are great ways for students to learn about the legislative process and serve the people of Mississippi. Both programs have a competitive admission program and provide a valuable and unforgettable experience. See below for more information on the internship application process. Internships
My office offers internships in Washington, D.C., and in my state offices. It is my goal to make sure that each intern’s experience truly is rewarding.
In the Washington, D.C., office, the fall program is from September to December and the spring program is from January to May. The summer program is divided into two sessions: mid-May to the beginning of July, and the beginning of July to the middle of August. The state internships operate under a similar schedule but have more flexibility.
All intern candidates need to fill out the intern application. All applications must include a resume, interest statement, and three (3) letters of recommendation. Complete applications should be scanned into one PDF in the following order:
- Application cover page from link above
- Resume
- Interest Statement
- Recommendation Letter One
- Recommendation Letter Two
- Recommendation Letter Three
Applications will only be accepted by email. Please put Senator Wicker Internship Application in the subject line and email your entire application packet to internships@wicker.senate.gov.
Please refer to the intern application for information on deadlines.
If you have any questions about the program, you may contact my internship coordinator at (202) 224-6253.
